H1N1 Fun...

Well, the girls have H1N1...have had it since Saturday...(guess I should say that they don't have the "official" diagnosis. However, my doc is telling me that pretty much all flu is Swine Flu right now. The Department of Disease Control is so busy testing these flu samples that they are backed up. 96% of what they are seeing is confirmed Swine Flu). They are feeling much better now though (thanks to $95 Tamiflu, lots of rest, lots of fluids)!
What have we been doing for 6 days?

1. Well, once they started feeilng better, we played with bendaroos. I was so impressed at all the stuff we made and the fun we had. They are pretty cool little crafts; whoever invented them is genuis! (just a stick with wax on it....why don't I ever think of these things???)

2. We decorated the house for Halloween. Those that know me are probably thinking..."what, Halloween?" because they know I'm not a HUGE fan of the Halloween decore. With the flu and boredom I decided to go wild (well, it's wild for me). Glowing cobwebs inside the house, a big purple spider web above the front door (that glows at night), orange lights on the bushes, decals on the windows....think we're gonna get some ghosts for the trees and pumpkins for the yard.
3. I knew I would be off today and tomorrow so I got some large marshmellows, m & m's, sprinkles, and toothpicks. We made strange creatures with those and then ate a few. That was fun except they ate more of the "supplies" than they used (which made for a light dinner last night)!

I've also been busy catching up on making dental appointments, eye appointments, having insurance adjustors come out to check the roof (we have water leaking into the garage), maintenance fixing the Att U Verse, etc... you know, all those things that get pushed to the side now that I'm a working mommy!~

OMG...

Why do I sometimes forget to just keep my mouth shut about things? I was reminded today that I need to literally go to work, do my job to the best of my ability, stay in my room and focus on my kids (rather than on the adults), and leave when it's quittin time. This has been the most draining and ridiculous day of my teaching careers...UGH!

Scary times....

Wow...our world is really a scary place. You know, Ralph Hall spoke to our new teacher group at breakfast and again at convocation. In his speech he mentioned how for the first time in his very long career he is scared for our country. I must admit that today I am scared too!

I just viewed these idiot celebrities pledging to Obama! Excuse me??? Give me a break! I will never "pledge my allegiance" to any president or person. It sickens me! I am so sick of Hollywood and Liberal Democrats! I usually keep my mouth shut on political matters but I can't any longer. We better stand up for ourselves, our country, and our children or we will be in a world of hurt very soon! Look at all that government has their hands on since Obama has taken office. Look how fast this "Cash for Clunkers" went flop...now those poor car dealers aren't getting their money from the government and they are fighting to stay alive. Everything the government touches turns to mush! Why can't people see this???

I got sickened again today when I found out that Obama wants to speak to our children via a live tv cast on Tuesday. What in the world does he have to say to a bunch of elementary students who don't give a rip about him anyway??? He doesn't want to speak to them....he wants to get his agenda across to teachers and administators. I am so happy that RISD is opting to not require this viewing to students. For those parents who insist their kids see it live, there will a place for them. My opinion is if parents think their kids need to see it, tape it and show them at home! Due to my lack of knowledge with historical events, I didn't realize that Hitler did something similar....hmmmm, something to think about.

You know, with all the craziness in our world (and I'm telling you it is going to get much worse before it's better), I am so thankful to serve a Risen Savior! I know that my eternity is secure because I have a faith in Jesus Christ. Oprah and all those other idiots will stand in front of the Almighty one day and have to answer to HIM! On that day, I know my God will look at me and say "Well, done my good and faithful servant." We better make sure our kids know how to stand against adversity and have an opinion on things that matter. I need to make sure I'm aware of "real topics" in our world so that I can firmly stand against things and articulate my reason for doing so. I want my girls to stand for something. I don't want them to be tolerant. I want them to have absolutes.

Okay, deep breath. Enough said.
